Phlebotomy
Course overview: The Phlebotomy Technician program is designed to teach the knowledge in technical and procedural aspects of basic phlebotomy, including the collection of blood specimens and venipuncture required to become a Phlebotomy technician. Prerequisites: High school diploma or equivalent. Basic proficiency in English language and computer skills is recommended.
Certification and Career Opportunities: Successful completion of the program may prepare students for certification exams, such as the Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) credentials. Graduates may pursue entry-level positions in Lab centers, hospitals, and other healthcare settings as competent Phlebotomist. Louisiana Graduates will be required to apply for additional licensure through LBME
