Course Overview: The Medical Assistant Training Program is designed to provide comprehensive education and practical training for individuals seeking a career as a competent and skilled medical assistant. Students will acquire the necessary knowledge and hands-on experience in various aspects of medical office procedures, patient care, and administrative tasks required in healthcare settings.

Course Objectives:

  1. Clinical Skills Development:

    • Introduction to medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.

    • Training in vital signs measurement, patient assessment, and assisting with examinations.

    • Understanding and practicing aseptic techniques and infection control procedures.

  2. Administrative Procedures:

    • Medical office management and electronic health records (EHR) systems training.

    • Billing and coding fundamentals, insurance procedures, and healthcare documentation.

    • Appointment scheduling, front desk operations, and patient communication skills.

  3. Laboratory Techniques:

    • Introduction to laboratory procedures, specimen collection, and handling.

    • Understanding basic laboratory tests and diagnostic procedures.

    • Safety protocols and compliance in laboratory settings.

  4. Clinical Specialties:

    • Exposure to various medical specialties such as cardiology, pediatrics, and dermatology.

    • Understanding the roles and responsibilities within different healthcare specialties.

Course Format: The Medical Assistant Training Program consists of a combination of classroom lectures, hands-on laboratory sessions, and clinical externship experiences in healthcare facilities. Students will have the opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge in real-world settings under supervision.

Prerequisites: High school diploma or equivalent. Basic proficiency in English language and computer skills is recommended.

Certification and Career Opportunities: Successful completion of the program may prepare students for certification exams, such as the Certified Medical Assistant (CMAA) Certified Medical Administrative Assistant credentials. Graduates may pursue entry-level positions in medical offices, clinics, hospitals, and other healthcare settings as competent medical assistants.
